The Global Oakland Initiative (GO!) represents a partnership between APPSI and the HNU Education Department’s graduate Urban Education program. The Initiative promotes and analyzes interactions between Oakland/the Bay Area and other Pacific Rim cities/regions—and currently focuses on issues pertaining to migration, supply chains and trade, education and cultural exchange, sustainable cities and resilient communities. Signature projects include the Oakland International Film Festival, the Oakland Sister Cities Project, and the Fair Trade University Campaign (with Oakland-based Fair Trade USA).
