Join us at Holy Names University in the beautiful Oakland Hills for a special program featuring Michael Morgan (Music Director and Conductor, Oakland East Bay Symphony).
Maestro Morgan will tell us about his innovative “Notes from” series that explores the world through music. This talk—and accompanying performances by musicians from the Oakland East Bay Symphony—will focus on the upcoming installment of this series, “Notes from Mexico,” which presents symphonic works by Mexico’s major twentieth-century composers as well as beautiful folk songs. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Maestro Morgan’s insights on a range of musical topics—from the art of conducting to the role of music in cultivating diverse, compassionate communities.
Our program will close with a special performance by singer/songwriter Diana Gameros, who recently received the Emerging Leader Award from the Chicana/Latina Foundation for her work in music and social justice activism.
